I am an English-born Australian artist whose practice explores the relationship between intuition, emotion, and the natural environment. My work is shaped by a deep curiosity about how we experience the world around us, through memory, sensation, movement, and feeling, often blurring the line between observation and abstraction.
Much of my painting is intuitive in nature. I work without a fixed plan, allowing marks, colour, and form to emerge through the act of painting itself. This process enables a sense of freedom and honesty, creating space for experimentation and self-expression. Alongside this, I have an ongoing desire to challenge myself technically, drawing inspiration from modernist and contemporary practices and continually evolving my approach through new techniques and materials.
Nature remains a strong influence in my work, particularly Australian landscapes and coastal environments. These places offer both stillness and energy, grounding my practice while inviting reflection on our connection to the natural world. Themes of sustainability, change, and resilience often sit quietly beneath the surface of my paintings, informing the work without defining it.
Painting is, for me, both a process of exploration and a form of release. Each body of work represents a moment in time: an expression of curiosity, emotion, and growth. I invite the viewer to slow down, look closely, and form their own connection with the work.
